Want to keep your monitor cables organized for transport?
These flexible cable ties are available on-line (search “gear ties”) and they do a fantastic job. This one is 18 inches long. I use three of them along the length of the cables. The ICU staff receiving the patient appreciates it when the patient arrives with the cables organized this way. I estimate that organizing the cables like this during the operation (before transfer of the patient from the OR bed to the ICU bed or stretcher) saves 10-15 minutes in the OR and another 10-15 minutes in the ICU, not to mention minimizing the frustration associated with untangling “spaghetti.”
The bright colors keep them from being lost. They are easily washed and disinfected between patients.
